Beeston Castle The Mighty Castle of the Rock
The current fortifications at Beeston were built by Ranulph, the 6th Earl of Chester in 1225.  And it’s easy to see why he chose this location – towering above the Cheshire Plain, with stunning views north, south, east and west over 8 counties this really is a mighty castle, similar to the impregnable hill-top strongholds of the Middle East.

Bunbury Watermill - Temporarily closed due to lack of funds. For details of how you can help contact Ernest on 01829 260344 or email ernest.croley@homecall.co.uk.
This mill is a charming attraction visited by the Delamere Life team and we were very impressed by the professional tour guide and quality of presentation.  It takes you by surprise as you are lead into the upper part of the building like Charlie in the Chocolate Factory and told the does and don'ts to keep you safe.  The sixteen tonnes of water wheel produces the greenest 16 horse power (as I recall) and the floor vibrates as it turns the giant cogs that turn the millstones to grind the flour which you can buy at the end of the tour.  A welcome break from poor weather and educational and fun for children.  This is a must on a wet afternoon and superb value for money.  Please check opening times & availability before visiting.  Mill Lane, Bunbury, Cheshire CW6 9PP Tel: 01829 261422 www.bunbury-mill.org
